Yes, all Combat, Showdown, Location, and Tome cards are double-sided. Having both sides printed will help you make decisions as you venture through the dungeon.
No. If your attack does not kill the enemy, then think of it more like a miss than a damage amount.
Some cards can be used this way but not all of them. It is specified on the effect if it can be performed on another player or companion.
It will only activate its attack on that player’s turn.
"During this turn" only affects the current player's turn.
The Monster deck consists only of Monster cards. The monster icon can be found on any side of the Monster card.
Common Cards include all Item, Enchantment, Defense, Potion, Skill, and Companion cards. This icon can be found on the back of each Common card.
Enchantement Cards can be equipped on any items as long as this item can be enchanted.
Both the Combat and Tome Card effect indicate you to draw a card from the bottom of the Common Draw Pile. So you will end your turn with a total of five cards.
This mistake is on my part. The Showdown card is a variant of the Combat card and a Kickstarter exclusive that isn’t mentioned on the box or rulebook. You are supposed to have 16 Combat cards and 2 Showdown cards, for a total of 18 Combat cards.
A Demon card cannot be placed in your XP section.
You will start the next scenario as a new game, but with one twist: All the bonuses you unlocked on the Tracking Sheet will take effect before/during the preparation of the next scenario.
In the order you drew them. (If you don’t remember, apply them from left to right.)
Since it’s the end of your turn, no further action can or should be taken.
The Reaper’s effect is applied, and enemy abilities are redirected to the player without a companion. (Let’s say you first apply all enemy effects to your companion, then finally the Reaper’s effect eliminates your companion… this order of application will still redirect all enemy effects to the player.)
While turning the Demon to it's B Side, a reset is applied. Thus, this "new" Demon doesn't keep any of the effect it previously had.
It means you need to discard two Learned Skill Cards of your choice if you are attacked by this enemy.
These effects are distinct: You apply the effect of the current scenario's Tome and draw one card to replace the Tome card.
You have to discard the number of card specified from your XP zone. Select the cards of your choice and place them in the Removed Card Pile. Do not forget to deduct the bonus from the section the XP card comes from.
No. All cards in the game can be activated only once per player's turn or enemies' turn.
No. Unless it is specified to draw a card immediately, increasing your hand size will not allow you to draw any cards right away.
Think of the Skill zone as a grimoire. You may add or remove pages to it, but need to use Action Points to cast your Skills. On the other hand, if you wish to equip an item or swing it again, you need to use Action Points.
Some cards interact with this number. You can also consider it as their power level.
You may target one or multiple targets in the same turn with different attacks. You may also combine your attack to take down high health+armor enemies. All cards can be activated only once per turn and the amount of damage that exceeds from an attack cannot be transferred to another foe.
Yes! A companion attack is considered your own, so you might combine it or even activate certain skills to boost this particular attack.
If you are attacked by this enemy, you must discard the item equipped on the specified Connection Point.
This card allows you to select between two enemies, but does not specify to draw any other card to replace it.
loot & merchants (4)
You need to apply the effect of the Bone Card: Remove one card in your hand and draw one card on the top of the Merchant Draw Pile.
You add it to your hand.
Apply the first Shopping Phase as usual. When finished, apply once again the Shopping Phase. (Do not forget to draw one last card to replace the second Town Portal card!)
You can only roll 2 damage dice (or 3 if you are the Hunter or Druid) and these are the only dice that can get you the +4 damage dice.
quests & events (5)
Since the Demon A Side is defeated, the Cursed/Damned Shrine is removed.
It needs to be one Monster. If you have only Starter Monster at your disposal, the card is ignored.
The card is discarded into the Event discard pile, and the effect is ignored.
The collected card is considered locked. Therefore, it cannot be accumulated under your Side Quest until next turn.
Easy! The Side Quest is considered completed.
